Goldy Doubly Sunflower — Organic
There is simply no other way to describe Goldy than as pure, incarnate joy. Fully double blooms like a fluffy, golden teddy bear — layers upon layers of bright yellow petals with no dark center to interrupt the sunshine — on sturdy stalks reaching six feet and beyond. The sunflower for forts, for cutting gardens, for giving to everyone you love.
HISTORY & HERITAGE: Sunflowers (Helianthus annuus) are native to North America, cultivated by Indigenous peoples for thousands of years before being brought to Europe in the 16th century. Double-flowered varieties like Goldy were developed through selective breeding, producing the full, pom-pom blooms beloved by florists and gardeners alike.
GROWING GUIDE: Direct sow after last frost in full sun, 1" deep, 6" apart, thinning to 12-18" as plants develop. Sunflowers need 6-8 hours of direct sun daily. Water deeply but infrequently once established. For a spectacular effect, plant morning glory at the base and let it climb the stalks. Stake in windy locations. Days to bloom: 70-80 days.
